Our year is coming to an end and we have many exciting activities and programs. Of course, you are each invited to our End of the Year programs. Below you will find a list of dates and times. We thank you for praying us through another wonderful year. Please be in prayer for the 2008-2009 school year as we prepare for both new and returning children and their families. We still have a few spaces available for next year, so please call the Kindergarten office (576-1548) for more information.

St. James Kindergarten
St. James Kindergarten was established in 1963 and continues to educate children ages 2-5.  We offer a developmentally appropriate learning experience for the children in our program in a loving Christian environment.  Our two-year-old classes meet on M-W-F and Tues/Thurs from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  The three-year-old classes also meet M-W-F and Tues/Thurs from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  We also offer a five day program for three year olds. The four year old program meets 3 days (MWF) 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and 5 days (M-F) 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The 5K class follows South Carolina kindergarten skills and objectives mandated by the state.  Children in our programs attend music class, worship time, and exciting field trips.  St. James is extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful staff of teachers and assistants who truly love their position and are dedicated to instilling a strong educational foundation for the students enrolled in our program.

Parents Morning Out
Parents' Morning Out has been a part of St. James Expanded Ministries programs for over 15 years.  We offer weekday care on Tuesdays and Thursdays for children who have begun walking up to around age three.  The children in PMO participate in music, story time, crafts, snack time, and free play.  Parents may choose one or both days for their child to attend.  We also offer a drop-in option for parents who need child care for unexpected events.  The program serves up to eleven children each day.

Ongoing fundraisers
Our programs are always in need of funds to replace worn or broken educational materials, obtain needed supplies, and maintain the playground.  There are three easy ways that all St. James members can contribute:

    1.  Save General Mills Boxtops from all General Mills cereals and Betty Crocker products.  We earn 10 cents per boxtop.  Last year we earned $181 through this simple effort.  A collection box is located on the table in the adult Sunday School win.

    2.  Collect Tyson Project A+ labels from all Tyson frozen chicken products.  We earn 24 cents per label.  (These can also be placed in the boxtops collection box.)

    3.  If you shop at Ingles, use your Tools for Schools scan cards.  Present this card to the cashier before  your groceries are totaled.  We earned over 60,000 points last year that we traded in for educational equipment.  The scan cards are placed in several areas around the church for you to pick up-please feel free to distribute these to friends and family!
