Worship Services

Adults
St. James has two Sunday worship services.  While the substance of the two services is the same, the 8:45 service uses more contemporary "praise & worship" music and the 11:00 service is more traditional.

Children
Children are important at St. James.  Both worship services feature a children's message.  3, 4, & 5-year-olds are invited to Children's Worship from 11:00 - 12:00.  The goal of this program is to prepare them to participate fully in worship in "big church" when they begin 1st grade.  After the Children's Message in the 11:00 service, 1st-2nd graders are invited to Extended Worship, which is designed to help them explore worship at their level.  Often the children minister to the congregation with an offering of music.

There are many types of worship experiences at St. James, including the following:

Advent/Christmas

 *Hanging of the Greens
 *
Cantatas (Children, Youth & Adults)
 *
Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion

Lenten Season

Ash Wednesday Service
Palm Sunday
Maundy Thursday Service
Good Friday Service

Holy Communion

 * Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and on other special days throughout the year.

Thanksgiving

*St. James participates in a community Thanksgiving service with other churches in the area.
